How to use Simply Shirley’s Jollof Paste on the Cooker
AN INTRODUCTION
See below our step-by-step guide on how to make your perfect jollof rice dish using Shirley’s Jollof Paste.
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS (GUIDELINE ONLY)
Full jar cooks 2 mugs of rice 500g serving 5 people.
Rice and water measurements using warm water:
Jasmine – 1 1/4 mug water. Basmati – 1 1/12 mug water.
Easy Cook Long Grain – 1 1/2 mug water.
1. Wash rice thoroughly
2. Add full contents of paste to washed rice and mixed well
3. Add water and stir paste until dissolved.
4. Cook on hob, bring to low boil then reduce the heat to hob mark 3 (cooking appliances vary) stir rice occasionally.
5. Cover with foil after 20 Min, let rice simmer for a further 15 Min until your Jollof rice is thoroughly cooked to your desired texture.
RICE COOKER INSTRUCTIONS:
Using the above instructions, rice cooker timer may go off and on 3 – 4 times before thoroughly cooked.
